No Cavities

It's time for a visit to the dentist again and it went smoothly. The kids did just fine with the teeth cleaning, though Hayley had a hard time with the X-rays. But the best part of the visit for me was "no cavities". Thanks to dad's hard work of flossing and brushing daily.

Ski Prep

We have planned a trip to Telluride over the Winter break and Hayley and I went shopping at Big 5 for some winter gear. Check out this pair of goggles on Hayley. I think she is ready!

We have had many generous hand-me-downs from friends and Hayley acquired a bike that she really enjoys. Thank you Chau Family!

Hayley the Baker

Hayley has been interested in participating whenever I'm baking or cooking. Here is her first Rice Krispy Treats with M & Ms. They turned out pretty good though the M & Ms were a little crushed.

Hayley's First Dentist Visit

It was Hayley's first visit to the dentist. She was a little scared at first and was not a happy camper when we sat her down on the dentist chair. Then she decided that she didn't want her teeth cleaned and wanted to only lay on daddy while her teeth got cleaned. But the dental hygienist managed to get her to sit by herself for X-rays. Ethan was also there for his teeth cleaning and was quite supportive. Overall she did great and had a good experience. And best of all no cavities!

First Day of School for Hayley - 2012-2013

Summer is over even though the weather is still scorching hot (this week will be over 110F). Hayley was so excited to start school today. This will be her second year at Montessori Christian Academy and we look forward to more great accomplishments from her. She has definitely grown since her first day of school at the beginning of this year. Check out her poses before school and finally became serious when she arrived in the classroom.

My Ballerina

Hayley started her ballet-tap-tumblimg class today at Ocotillo Dance Center and she really enjoyed it. Here she is!

New Toothbrush

Ethan has been using the Sonicare for kids toothbrush for a while now. We decided it is time for Hayley to have one, so now they both have it and they have their own color.

Well Child Visit for the Kids

It's time for Hayley's 3-year old and Ethan's 5-year old well child visits. Both are doing well. Hayley weighed in at 27.6 lbs (10%) and is 35.25 inches (10-25%). We tested her for peanuts just to see where we're at. Hayley did great during her blood draw and didn't even cry! Ethan weighs 39.4 lbs (25-50%) and is 43 inches (50%). They were both happy as there were no shots!

Combo Birthday Party

We had a combo Birthday Party for Ethan (5) and Hayley (3) this year at the Tumbleweed Park. I went all out and hired a face painter/balloon twister, Luz, who was amazing and everyone loved her. I was very impressed by her work. I had some fun games planned for the kids and adults and had some Easter crafts as well. I also ordered some yummie desserts from Susan Fiebig's It's a Divine Bakery - cake pops, mini whoopie pies and petit fours. The food was great as well. Thanks to my hubby for ordering and coordinating the food. We had some delicious Vietnamese specialties of Bánh Cuon, Bánh Lọc Trần Nhân Tôm Thịt and egg rolls from Hue Gourmet as well as El Pollo Loco, Church's Chicken and Costco pizza. My mom and mother-in-law made stir fried rice noodles, marinated eggs, tofu and beef and konnyaku jelly. Overall, it was a great party and everyone enjoyed it!

Movie Day

We took the kids to see Lorax this weekend and it was a great movie. It was Hayley's first movie theater experience and she did great!

Sunday Morning Yoga

Our Wii Fit has been sitting collecting dust and we decided to start using it again. The kids loved the yoga portion and did pretty well! Why didn't we think of this earlier?

My Baby Girl is Growing Up

Today is Hayley's first day at preschool. She is now attending Montessori Christian Academy with Ethan. She cried briefly during drop-off, but she did just fine except she had a little accident while playing outside. She ate all her lunch and napped. I was told that Ethan was a great helper to Hayley, so I'm very happy about that. Let's hope she will continue to have a good week!

Miss Dora

We went shopping at Ross after having a yummie dinner at Red Lobster with grandmas and grandpa. Hayley enjoyed the Cheddar Bay Biscuits along with blackened tilapia and shrimp linguini. During our shopping trip, we tried on several hats and ended up with a Dora backpack for Hayley. Do you see the resemblance?
